Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Feeling steady when the world keeps shifting is tough—and that’s exactly where we focus. Andre Flax, a certified life and leadership coach, explains why uncertainty affects us so deeply and how to rebuild self-trust without waiting for perfect clarity or emotional guarantees. We examine the subtle ways we rely on headlines and experts for inner authority, then provide a practical path to regain calm decisions, aligned actions, and lasting confidence.
Throughout the conversation, we discuss five practical strategies for busy, noisy times: shifting from “what if” to “even if” to prioritize resilience over fear; calming your nervous system so clarity can follow; rebuilding trust with yourself through small, kept promises; taking action before feeling fully confident by using alignment as your guide; and viewing uncertainty as training that boosts discernment, resilience, and self-leadership. You’ll learn simple, accessible techniques like phone-free walks, breathwork, and small commitments that build into trust you can genuinely feel.
If you’ve been carrying quiet questions—Should I wait or move? What if I’m wrong?—This is your reset. You’ll leave with language that brings steadiness, practical tools you can use today, and a mindset that keeps you grounded while circumstances shift.

SPEAKER_00Welcome to Transformative Living Radio, where we explore the power of intentional change for personal growth and fulfillment. I'm Andre Flax, your host and certified life and leadership coach. Let me start by asking you something real. Does it feel like everything's a little shaky right now? Not just the headlines, but in life in general. The news changes every day, the economy feels uncertain, people seem tense, distracted, and worn out. And even if you're still handling your responsibilities, going to work, showing up for your people, doing what needs to be done, there's still a quiet question that seems to keep popping up. Am I making the right moves right now? You see, a lot of people are second-guessing themselves right now. Decisions seem heavier, the future feels less predictable, and things that used to feel solid don't anymore. Now, if that's you, you're not alone. You see, when the outside world feels unstable, it's easy to start doubting yourself. To doubt your instincts, your timing, your direction. So today I want to slow things down. Now, this isn't about having all the answers. It's not about pretending that everything's fine. It's about learning how to trust yourself when things aren't clear, when the next steps isn't obvious, and when certainty just isn't available. So let's talk about what it truly means to trust yourself in uncertainty. So grab a pen and a pad, and if you're ready, let's begin. Hello and welcome to another empowering episode of Transformative Living Radio. I'm Andre Flax, your host and certified life and leadership coach. Let me start by saying this plainly. If things feel uncertain right now, you're not imagining it. The world feels really loud. The economy feels unpredictable. Politics feels polarizing and exhausting. Social conversations feel so intense like everybody's on edge bracing for what's next. And even if you're still doing what you need to get done, working, providing, showing up, there's a quiet question that many people are carrying. And that is, can I trust myself in a world that feels this unstable? Now this question isn't dramatic, it's honest. Because when the system around you feels unreliable, something deeper gets shaken. We don't just question the future, we question our judgment. We start wondering: am I making the right decision? Should I be playing it safe or taking the risk? Should I wait or should I move now? What if I get this wrong? And here's the thing: nobody really prepares us for how heavy that can feel. So in today's episode, we're slowing it down. Because it's not about pretending that everything's okay. It's not about blind optimism or pushing through with fake confidence. It's really about learning how to trust yourself when clarity isn't complete, when certainty isn't available, and when the world keeps changing faster than your plans. So if you're in a season like that right now, you're in the right place. So let's talk. Now, uncertainty has always been a part of life. But what makes this moment different is the stacking of uncertainty. Economic pressures, political instability, shifting in social norms, rising costs, job insecurity, information overload. It feels like there's no single place to stand and feel fully grounded. So people aren't just anxious, they're fatigued. And when fatigue sets in, trust erodes. Not trust in the world, but trust in ourselves. Because when everything feels unstable, we start looking for certainty anywhere we can find it. In other people's opinions, the headlines, social media, experts, and even forecasts. And before we realize it, we've outsourced our inner authority. So the real work right now isn't predicting the future, it's rebuilding self-trust in the middle of uncertainty. So let me give you five strategies that will help you begin to rebuild your self-trust during this season of uncertainty. Strategy number one is to stop asking what if and to start asking even if. What do I mean? Most people get stuck in the mental loop of what ifs. What if it doesn't work out? What if I make the wrong call? What if I regret this? Now those questions sound reasonable, but here's the truth. What if questions assume you won't be okay if things go wrong? They assume frailty. So let's shift the question. Instead of what if, ask even if. Strategy number two is to regulate before you decide. What do I mean? You can't make grounded decisions from a dys-regulated nervous system. You see, when uncertainty hits, the body goes into survival mode. We experience tightness in the chest, shallow breathing, urgency, and mental looping. From that place, every decision feels heavy. So before you ask, What should I do? A better question would be to ask, what do I need to feel steady? That might be a walk without your cell phone, slowing your breathing, sitting in silence, stepping away from the news just for a moment. Now this isn't avoidance, it's intelligence. Because clarity follows calm. Let me say that again. Clarity follows calm. It doesn't precede calm. When your body feels safe, intuition becomes accessible again. Now strategy number three is rebuild trust through small self-promises. Now a lot of people say they don't trust themselves, but when we dig deeper, what they really mean is I keep ignoring myself. You see, every time you override your limits, say yes when you mean no, or silence your truth just to keep peace, trust is weakened. Not because you're failing, but because you're disconnected. Now the way back isn't dramatic. It's simple. Start keeping small promises to yourself. Resting when you're tired, following through on one small commitment, and honoring your intuition and low-risk moments. You see, trust isn't rebuilt through big leaps, it's rebuilt through consistency. Now that leads to strategy number four, and that is to move without emotional guarantees. Now, here's something that may surprise you. Confidence usually comes after movement, not before. Waiting to feel ready can keep you stuck indefinitely. Now, when you're in uncertain seasons, trust doesn't say, I know this will work. Actually, trust says, I know I won't abandon myself if it doesn't work. Instead of asking, do I feel confident? Ask, does this align with who I am becoming? You see, alignment is quieter than excitement, but it's much steadier. And this is how self-trust matures. Strategy number five is to see uncertainty as training, not as failure. Now, this reframe ties everything together. What if uncertainty isn't a mistake? What if it's preparation? You see, every major shift, personal or collective, has a period where the old no longer fits and the new isn't clear yet. That space feels uncomfortable on purpose. So instead of asking, when will this end, ask what is this season strengthening inside of me? Discernment, resilience, self-leadership, inner authority. You see, uncertainty doesn't mean you're off track, often it means you're being refined. Now, as we wrap up this episode, I want to leave you with this thought. Trusting yourself doesn't mean you'll never feel doubt. It means you don't let doubt disconnect you from who you are. In times like these, inner trust isn't a luxury. It's how you stay steady while the world keeps shifting. You don't need perfect certainty, you don't need guarantees, you need a relationship with yourself that says no matter what happens, I'm still here. So right now, take a deep breath and ask yourself, which one of these strategies do I need right now? Start right there. Because you're not behind and you're not broken, you're learning how to trust yourself in uncertainty. And that's one of the most powerful skills you can learn right now. That's why I want to remind you about my ebook entitled Standing in Your Own Authority. This book was written for moments exactly like what many of us are facing right now. Not moments where everything is clear, but moments where you need to stay grounded, stay present, and remember that your inner voice still matters. Now you can use this book as a grounding practice when things feel overwhelming. You can also use it as a reminder of who you are when doubt comes in. And finally, as a way to connect with your inner authority when the outside world seems loud. Now it's not about hyper motivation, it's about anchoring yourself so that you don't lose your footing when life feels uncertain. Now you can download a copy for free by clicking the link in today's show notes. Now I encourage you to use the ebook slogan. Come back to it when you need to recenter. Let it support you as you practice trusting yourself, not just today, but moving forward. Because here's the truth I want to leave you with today. You don't need perfect clarity to move forward. And you don't need guarantees to trust yourself. You just need a relationship with yourself that says, no matter what happens, I'm still here, I'm still listening, and I'm still leading my life from the inside out. Well, that's our show for today.
