Unlocking Your Inner Genius

Andre Flax

Your most brilliant ideas aren't random occurrences—they're your inner genius knocking at the door of consciousness. The question is: are you answering?

For over a century, the teachings of Ernest Holmes have illuminated how our minds create our reality. "Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it," Holmes wrote in 1919, articulating a principle that remains revolutionary today. When we understand this mirror-like quality of consciousness, we recognize that every thought plants seeds that eventually bear fruit in our experiences.

Many of us have become accidental creators, letting habitual thinking patterns direct our lives without intention. But what if you could harness this creative power deliberately? What if you could train your mind to generate solutions, opportunities, and fulfillment with greater consistency? This episode unpacks seven practical strategies to awaken your creative mind: choosing clear mental targets, crafting powerful affirmations, practicing visualization, monitoring inner dialogue, using physical movement to break mental blocks, consuming inspiring content, and ending each day with gratitude paired with intention.

The most transformative aspect of this wisdom isn't just understanding it intellectually—it's applying it consistently in everyday life. You don't need permission to be brilliant. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. The creative genius within you is already present, waiting for you to trust it and express it. Whether you're facing challenges in work, relationships, or personal growth, these principles offer both practical guidance and profound inspiration. Take these strategies to heart, apply them daily, and watch as your life begins to reflect the brilliance you've always carried within.

Speaker 1:

Over a hundred years ago, in 1919, a spiritual pioneer named Ernest Holmes shared a series of ideas that were considered revolutionary at the time. He taught that the mind, your mind, is the most powerful tool you have, that the thoughts you think, the feelings you nurture. Now, he wasn't just guessing. He was giving us the hidden spiritual technology of the ages, the same truths that have been taught quietly in mystery schools, whispered by the sages, encoded in ancient texts and now available to anyone ready to listen. And here's the miracle these ideas are just as true and just as practical today as they were back then. In fact, they may be even more relevant now than they've ever been before. Ernest Holmes taught that there is one mind, a universal intelligence, and that we're all using it all the time, that the creative mind of the universe is already within us. Holmes writes quote life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it. End quote. Now that statement bears repeating again Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it. So here's the practical takeaway you are always thinking and your thoughts are always creating something. Now, this doesn't mean we need to obsess over every stray negative thought, but it does mean we need to be more intentional about what we consistently think and feel.

Speaker 1:

Now imagine your mind is like a GPS. You enter the destination, your goal, your dream, your vision. The system starts to calculate the route. However, if you continually change your destination or doubt the route, you'll remain stuck. You see, your creative mind works when you're clear, when you're focused and, more importantly, when you believe. Holmes said, quote we must learn to think in the right way. Then we shall be able to use this power for more definite purposes, end quote. So what does that mean and how do we actually do that? Well, let me share seven practical strategies that you can start using today to awaken your creative mind and tap into your inner genius.

Speaker 1:

Strategy number one is to choose a clear mental target. Start your day by choosing one goal or one intention. Now, don't be vague. Be very specific. Instead of saying I want to be creative, try saying I want to write the opening paragraph of my new project. Why this works? Well, the mind needs clarity when we speak. A vague desire, it creates a vague result. So here's how to apply this strategy Each morning, write down one clear intention for your day. This acts like an inner compass, pointing your thoughts and your energy towards a specific outcome. Now here's a question I want you to reflect upon what's one area in your life where clarity is missing. What's one specific outcome you could choose to focus your creative energy on today? Think about that Now.

Speaker 1:

Strategy number two is to use the power of present tense affirmations. You see, affirmations are great tools when they are laced or endowed with emotion. Here's how it works. Speak your vision as if it was already true. For example, I am guided by divine intelligence. Creative ideas flow through me easily. Now let me tell you why this works. You see, the subconscious mind responds to repetition and present tense language. So here's how to apply it. Pick three affirmations that align with your goals. Say them out loud in the mirror, maybe in the morning and definitely right before you go to bed. But when you say your affirmations, say them with emotion and certainty. So let me ask you this question what affirmation could you begin to use today that feels both bold and believable? Think about that.

Speaker 1:

Strategy number three is do a daily five-minute visualization. Now, visualization, again, is another powerful tool when used correctly. Here's how to do it Sit quietly, close your eyes and see your goal already completed. Feel the result. Feel the result. Get emotionally involved with it. Now why this works. Well, holtz says imagination is the creative force. What we emotionally believe we begin to attract. So here's how to apply this strategy. Before starting your workday, pause for five minutes to mentally rehearse your success. Make the vision vivid, engage all of your senses. By doing this, you create the experience of your vision becoming real to your nervous system.

Speaker 1:

Strategy number four is to watch your inner dialogue. Notice what you say to yourself. When things go wrong, do you criticize yourself or, course, correct with compassion? Now, why this works is because your self-talk sets the tone for your creative output. Encourage your genius, don't shut it down. Here's how to apply it. When you catch yourself in negative self-talk, pause, take a deep breath. Reframe the thought into something encouraging. Here's an example. I am learning, I am growing, I'm still moving forward. Now here's something I want you to consider as you apply this strategy. What's one negative phrase you say often, and what could you replace it with?

Speaker 1:

Strategy number five is move when you're stuck. The truth is, we all have mental blocks, and when you feel mentally blocked, it's time to take a walk or to do something physical to change your environment. Why this works is because physical movement disrupts stuck mental patterns and allows new inspiration to flow. So here's how to apply this strategy, schedule a creative walk during your day. Leave your cell phone behind and let your mind wander. Ask yourself open-ended questions like what idea is trying to find me today? The key here is to have a go-to reset activity when your energy is low or when your creative ideas seem to stall.

Speaker 1:

Now strategy number six is to surround yourself with what we call high vibration content. You see, what you read, what you listen to and even what you watch matters, so it's important that you feed your mind uplifting ideas, books and podcasts like this one. Why this works? Well, your creative mind is shaped by what you expose it to. You see, you've heard the expression garbage in, garbage out. Well, goodness in, genius out. Here's how to apply this. Start by creating a creative playlist that could be books, podcasts, music and quotes that light up your soul. The idea is to consume a little every day to stay inspired.

Speaker 1:

Strategy number seven is to end the day with gratitude and intention. You see, we often think that creativity is something that happens during the day, when we're brainstorming, writing or working. However, our most powerful creative work often happens while we sleep. You see, the subconscious mind never sleeps, and what we feed it before bed is the content it works with overnight. So why does this work? Well, gratitude softens the nervous system and primes the subconscious mind for renewal. When we pair gratitude with intention, we're actually programming the mind to keep creating, even while we rest. Ernest Holmes wrote. Quote as we plant daily, so shall we reap, end quote. You see, our final thoughts of the day are like seeds, and they will sprout in the silence of the night. So here's how to apply this strategy Keep a gratitude journal by your bed Each night, write three things that you're grateful for and one idea or one intention that you plan to accomplish during tomorrow. Then let it marinate all night, overnight, as you fall into sleep.

Speaker 1:

Now, as we wrap up this episode, I want to leave you with this thought If you've been doubting yourself, if you've been hiding your ideas, if you've been waiting for permission to be brilliant, this is your permission. You see, you were designed to think, to create and to imagine. No, you don't need to earn your way into worthiness, you don't need to have it all figured out. You just need to start, start thinking better thoughts, start visualizing better outcomes and start trusting that your ideas matter, because they do. Let go of the old story, the one that says that you're not ready or you're not enough and replace it with this truth you are a creative being, genius lives inside you and it's time to let it out.
