Faith Is Expectancy: How Inner Knowing Creates External Reality

Andre Flax

What if the breakthrough you've been waiting for hinges not on proving yourself worthy, but simply on your expectation that it will arrive? This profound question forms the cornerstone of our exploration into faith as expectancy—a transformative perspective that reframes faith from vague hoping to absolute knowing.

Drawing on spiritual wisdom and practical psychology, we explore how the inner state of certainty leads to tangible external change. Like the little girl who immediately packed for Disney World after her father's promise, true faith isn't calculating odds or seeking proof—it's preparing with complete conviction. This childlike certainty exemplifies Neville Goddard's teaching that "to desire a state is to have it," where our role is simply to live from the end result.

The power of the law of assumption reveals that whatever you assume to be true with feeling becomes your reality. This isn't magical thinking, but a spiritual principle that operates regardless of awareness. By vividly imagining desired outcomes fused with genuine feeling, you impress your subconscious mind, which then shapes your external world accordingly. As Goddard notes, "You don't attract what you want; you attract what you are conscious of being."

We share seven soul-aligned practices to activate expectant faith: living from the end, performing nightly revision rituals, using identity-based affirmations, anchoring with physical triggers, scripting your future, guarding your mental environment, and saturating your senses before sleep. These practices don't require spiritual expertise—just your willingness to shift from hoping to knowing.

Welcome to Transformative Living Radio, where we explore the power of intentional change for personal growth and fulfillment. I'm Andre Flax, your host and certified life and leadership coach. Have you ever stood at the edge of a breakthrough and thought maybe it's just not meant for me? Maybe you've worked hard or visualized, prayed and still the door hasn't opened? Or maybe you've stopped trying altogether, quietly surrendering to the idea that other people get to live extraordinary lives and you just watch from the sidelines. But what if I told you that the door opens not when you prove yourself, but when you expect it to? In today's episode, we want to explore the idea of faith is expectancy. We'll look at how faith isn't just about believing in something vague or distant, but faith is the deep inner knowing that what you desire is already yours. And when that knowing becomes your way of being, the world outside has no choice but to conform. So if you're ready to take your personal faith to the next level, grab a pin and a pad and let's begin. Hello and welcome to another empowering episode of Transformative Living Radio. I'm Andre Flax, your host and certified life and leadership coach.

There's a story about a little girl who was told her family was going to Disney World for vacation. This little girl packed her bags on the same night, laid out her Minnie Mouse shirt and went to bed early. When asked why was she ready so quickly, she said because daddy said we were going. Now that's faith. You see, this little girl wasn't concerned about checking the weather, or asking her father had he booked a hotel, or even calculating the odds that the trip wouldn't happen. You see, true faith is expectancy, not wishful thinking, not crossing your fingers, but the quiet, powerful certainty that it's already done.

Speaker 1:

In his book Out of this World, Neville Goddard says to desire a state is to have it, and our role is to live, breathe and feel from that end. Because the moment we assume the feeling of a wish or desire, fulfill we shift timelines. The unseen begins to shape itself around our inner world. Imagine planting a seed in the ground. You water it, you place it in the sun and you wait. You're not hoping it grows, you're expecting it to grow. You don't dig it up every day to check, you simply trust the process. That's what real faith looks like Not begging, not forcing, but trusting, expecting and preparing, but trusting, expecting and preparing. Neville Goddard puts it plainly. Quote faith is loyalty to the unseen. And Florence Schofield Shin, who is another spiritual pioneer, said the game of life is a game of boomerangs.

Speaker 1:

Our thoughts, deed and words return to us sooner than later, with astounding accuracy. In other words, your inner state, your thoughts, your assumptions, your feelings shape the world around you. And if that's true, then changing your life begins with changing your expectancy. It is said that we get out of life what we expect from life. In the Bible, jesus is quoted as saying you have not because you ask not. And when you ask, you don't expect to receive what you ask for. You see, it's not enough to simply want something. Wanting implies you don't have it, and when you dwell in a state of lack, that's exactly what you continue to experience.

Speaker 1:

The law of assumption says that whatever you assume to be true with feeling becomes your reality. Now, this isn't theory. It's a spiritual principle that works, regardless of whether you are aware of it or not. Here's what this means when you vividly imagine your desired outcome and fuse that mental picture with the genuine feeling of it already being true, and fuse that mental picture with the genuine feeling of it already being true, you begin to impress your subconscious mind, and your subconscious mind is always creating, molding your external world to match what you believe and expect internally. This is why Neville said you do not attract what you want. You attract what you are conscious of being. So if you're conscious of being abundant, you assume abundance. If you're conscious of being healed, you assume wholeness, and your world rearranges itself to mirror that inner assumption.

Speaker 1:

Now, the power of feeling is what brings your imagination to life. It's the emotional charge behind your thoughts that activates the law of assumption. Think of it like electricity flowing through a wire Imagination is the wire, but feeling is the current. No feeling, no power. Now, this isn't about forcing fake emotions. It's about stepping into that inner state of fulfillment, what Neville calls living in the end. You want to be loved. Live from the feeling that you already are. You want prosperity. Feel the ease and freedom as if it's already yours. Neville states that when we dwell in the emotional experience of our desires fulfilled, we set a divine process in motion. Our outer world must align with our inner state. So, again, feeling is the secret and the law of assumption is the law that governs how our realities are formed. So let's move on from the spiritual and inspirational to something more practical. Let me give you seven soul-aligned practices you could start today to help activate expectant faith in your own life.

Speaker 1:

Strategy number one is to live from the end. Now Neville speaks about the concept of living or behaving from the standpoint of already having what you desire. Ask yourself how would I act, speak, feel and think if I already possess what I desire? Every morning, close your eyes and feel what it would feel like to already have your desire. Don't just see it, be in it. What are you wearing, how are you breathing? And who might be texting you in the moment congratulating you for receiving what you desire. Strategy number two is to perform what is known as a nightly revision ritual. Now, before you go to bed, go back over your day, revise anything that didn't align with who you truly are. Neville calls this pruning the vine. Does someone offend you? Reimagine that moment with love. Did you miss an opportunity? See it turning into your favor. You're not lying to yourself. You're reshaping your reality.

Speaker 1:

Affirmations through identity is the third strategy to activate expectant faith. You see, affirmations are powerful when they are rooted in identity, creating your own I am. Statements help you to connect with the ideas and desires you want to see manifested in your life. Don't say I want to be wealthy. Say I am the embodiment of abundance. Prosperity flows through me. Strategy number four is to anchor with a trigger. Anchoring is a powerful strategy for activating expectancy. Here's how you do it. Pick one physical object it could be a ring, a stone, a bracelet and assign meaning to it. Now, every time you touch it, anchor the feeling of your desire fulfilled. This gives your body a cue to shift into a state of expectancy.

Speaker 1:

Strategy number five is to script your future. Write in the present tense about your life six months from now. Make it sensory, emotional, detailed. This is not fiction, it's creation. Now, strategy number six is to guard the gate of your mind. You see, your subconscious mind is always listening. So don't speak against your desires. No more. I never can catch a break or I'm always behind. Would you water weeds in your garden? No, so speak only what you want to grow. Finally, strategy number seven is saturate your senses before you sleep. Now, as you drift into sleep, saturate your mind with the scene of your wish fulfilled. Okay, why, you might ask? Because sleep is the gateway to the subconscious mind. If you plant seeds as you enter into sleep, the seeds will grow.

Speaker 1:

Now, as we wrap up this episode, I want to speak to the part of you that still wonders is this really possible for me? Well, the answer is yes, and it's not because I say so, but because you are made of the same substance as the stars. The force that spins the planets lives in your breath. Neville said you are already that which you want to be, and your refusal to believe this is the only reason you do not see it.

Speaker 1:

So what if, tonight, you laid down every excuse, every doubt and every story that said you're not enough, you're not ready and you're not worthy? What if you dare to expect, because faith is expectancy. Now, expectancy isn't arrogance, it's spiritual maturity. Now, expectancy isn't arrogance, it's spiritual maturity, it's saying I believe there's a higher order. I trust that I am supported and I am ready to show up, like it's already done. So here's my challenge. What if, for one week, you expected the best? You walked into rooms knowing you belong, you opened emails expecting good news. You spoke to yourself like someone whose words matter? How would your life begin to shift? Well, that's our show for today. We hope that you found this episode both insightful and inspiring.
